Hi there. I’m Alex von Vaupel, queer tanka poet, writer, activist, polyglot. I live a nomadic life, based both in Utrecht, Netherlands, and Canterbury, Kent, UK. I write tanka to keep track of my journey through life. On this webpage you will find my tanka, some thoughts on poetry, writing, arts and crafts, and other information about my work. My poems have been published in Atlas Poetica, Concise Delight, and Prune Juice. Two of my tanka qualified for the 2009 Tanka Splendor Awards.
